Ukrainian-British cooperation during the war
Chernihiv Polytechnic National University (CPNU) has started active cooperation with Wrexham Glyndwr University (Great Britain) within the framework of the twinning initiative under the coordination of Cormack Consultancy Group. Chernihiv and British universities have been cooperating for about 10 years in the field of academic mobility and joint research. The “twinning” initiative is a step-in support of the aspirations of higher education institutions in Ukraine to continue educational and research activities, develop and strengthen partnerships with British colleagues. Such cooperation opens for students, graduate students and teachers of CPNU opportunities for professional development, exchange of experiences, improving English language skills.
So far, 5 online meetings have been held with representatives of the twinning initiative and Glyndwr University. As a result of fruitful communication, teachers of CPNU gained access to the online database of the British University, which allows them to use necessary materials in the educational process. Students, graduate students and faculty have access to online English courses at Reallyenglish.com with the support of Wrexham Glyndwr University and Cormack Consultancy Group. This is a unique selection of English courses at different levels and on various topics, including business communication in English, preparation for IELTS, TOEFL and others.
As part of the cooperation, contacts have also been established between student governments of partner universities, negotiations are underway on academic mobility programs, and a summer school for students and teachers of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University is being planned at Wrexham Glyndwr University.
The development of active cooperation between universities can become the basis for the establishment of a partnership between the cities of Chernihiv and Wrexham.
