Valentina Litvinenko, Head of the “Adiutorium” Legal Clinic, attended the May School organised by the Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine

The second stage of the professional development programme – the May School – also took place in Lviv at the Ukrainian Catholic University from 14 to 16 May 2026. The May School is dedicated to providing legal assistance to defenders and IDPs. As is traditional, the event brought together representatives of legal clinics from various regions of Ukraine. Valentina Litvinenko, head of the “Adiutorium” Legal Clinic, also continued her professional development.

The main topics of the May School were:

1. Specialised legal clinics providing assistance to military personnel: categories of cases, organisation of work, challenges and issues.

2. Provision of legal aid to military personnel and their family members.

3. Provision of legal aid to veterans and family members of the deceased.

4. The specifics of communicating with military personnel, their families and those affected by the war.

5. Establishing facts of legal significance under martial law.

6. Compensation for destroyed/damaged housing. International Register of Damages

7. Partnerships to strengthen the specialisation of law firms.

The speakers at the May school were: UBA expert Mariia Tsypiashchuk, UBA Board member Khrystyna Kovtsun, and UBA Board member Liudmyla Rudenko.

The school is held as part of the “Human Rights Infrastructure for Ukraine” Programme (2025–2027), which is funded by the Swedish Government through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), and is implemented by the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law with the participation of the Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine as the implementing partner.
