Foreign Philology Department Participates in Erasmus+ KA171 Mobility Program
Lesia Pikun, Associate Professor of the Foreign Philology Department at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and PhD in Philology, completed an academic mobility program at the University of Valladolid (Kingdom of Spain) from April 13 to April 17, 2026. The visit took place within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 project during International Week, hosted by the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters and the Department of Classical Philology. During a panel discussion, Dr. Pikun represented Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and the Foreign Philology Department. She presented the “English Language and Translation” educational program, which garnered significant interest from International Week participants representing Armenia, Montenegro, Georgia, and Côte d’Ivoire. This professional exchange confirmed the ongoing relevance of philological education and the alignment of educational initiatives with contemporary academic and societal demands.
Throughout the mobility program, Lesia Vasylivna attended various lectures and practical seminars led by faculty members of the University of Valladolid, including:
- Literature sessions conducted by Professor Berta Cano Echevarría.
- Poetry and fiction translation workshops led by Professor José Manuel Eduardo Barrio Marco.
- Generative AI Seminar: Special focus was placed on a workshop dedicated to using Generative AI for creating educational games and applications.
The International Week program successfully combined intensive academic work with cultural activities, such as exploring the historic center of Valladolid and visiting the Palacio de Santa Cruz library. The mobility program was implemented under the coordination of Marta Gutiérrez Rodríguez with professional assistance from Laura Alvarez Trigo. The certificate received upon completion of the program serves as a vital foundation for the further development of international cooperation for the Department of Foreign Philology.
