On April 27 and 28, 2023, in the city of Lviv, the Lviv Polytechnic National University hosted a kick-off meeting of partners within the framework of the Erasmus+ International Technical Assistance Project of the European Union “Promoting professional education and active participation of students through the establishment of a comprehensive mentoring system and tutoring in HEIs” (“Promoting professional education and students engagement through comprehensive mentoring and tutoring system in HEIs”).

The acronym of the project is PROMENT, the implementation period: 03/01/2023 – 02/28/2026. The project coordinator is Lviv Polytechnic National University. The project is aimed at strengthening the potential of Ukrainian and Georgian higher education institutions in providing comprehensive and effective professional training of students to reduce the discrepancy between educational outcomes and labor market requirements by developing and implementing an innovative system of mentoring/tutoring in higher education institutions based on the joint experience of the Consortium partners.

The launch meeting was held in a hybrid format due to the security situation in Ukraine. The following members of the project team from Chernihiv Polytechnic National University took part in the kick-off meeting:

• – L. Remnyova, candidate of economic sciences, professor, head of the department of personnel management and business technologies (project coordinator from our university);
• – M. Zabashtanskyi, doctor of economic sciences, professor, director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Business, Nature Management and Tourism;
• – A. Verbytska, candidate of sciences in public administration, head of the department of marketing, RR technologies and logistics;
• – N. Kholyavko, doctor of economics, professor, head of the Center for Project Activities, professor of the Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance (remote participation).

The coordinator and communication manager of the Chernihiv IT cluster, in partnership with which the project will be implemented, also took part in the kick-off meeting.

During the first day of the kick-off meeting (April 27, 2023), partners and their experience in using elements of mentoring and tutoring in the educational process and project activities were presented. Special attention was paid to coordination of the project management bodies, discussion of the details of the consortium agreement, familiarization with the project methodology.

The second day of the kick-off meeting was devoted to specifying aspects of reporting, periods and main stages of project implementation. Emphasis was placed on reviewing the dissemination plan and the quality assurance and project evaluation plan.

We would like to thank the coordinator of the PROMENT project, Lviv Polytechnic National University, for the high level of conducting the kick-off meeting, and all partners for their active participation and effective exchange of ideas.
