“Digital Security in Wartime”.

In today’s world, where technology is becoming an increasingly important part of our everyday life, the issue of digital security is becoming especially relevant. It becomes especially important in the conditions of war, when digital threats can have serious consequences for national security and information infrastructure of the state.

On February 29, 2024, an online training was held on the topic: “Digital security in wartime.” The event brought together participants interested in the topic of digital security and information hygiene from the educational and social spheres, from various spheres of activity, to discuss ways to increase the level of security in the digital space. The trainer, Volodymyr Bazilevich, head of the Department of Information and Computer Systems of Chernihiv Polytechnic University, shared with the participants important knowledge and strategies regarding protection against risks associated with the use of social networks, considered the challenges that users may face in digital space, and offered effective methods for their protection.

The trainer, Dmytro Mehed, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Cyber ​​Security and Mathematical Modeling of Chernihiv Polytechnic University, told the participants about the tools for preserving privacy and security on the Internet and explored modern challenges and threats to information security in wartime conditions. The participants of the online training noted the practical benefit of the knowledge gained, as they had the opportunity to learn about the prospects of digital security, paying attention to technological trends and potential challenges, as well as being able to consider ideas and concepts that can become key in overcoming future threats and increasing the level of Internet security. The acquired knowledge and skills after the event became a valuable asset for each participant, as they will help to be more confident and protected in the online environment.

The training was held within the framework of the initiative “Development of the Network of Working Groups for Public Security and Recovery in Seven Territorial Communities of Chernihiv Oblast”, which is implemented by the NGO “Chernihiv European” with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine with the financial support of the European Union, provided within the project ” EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine”.
