SCIENTIFIC ROUND TABLE FOR THE DAY OF UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE AND WRITING HELD
The Day of Ukrainian Literature and Language is a holiday not only for philologists, but for all patriotic Ukrainians, because, as Lina Kostenko wrote: “Nations do not die of a heart attack. First, he takes away their language. “
This day within the walls of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University has become an annual language holiday, but the format of its holding is constantly updated. This year it is a round table “Ukrainian language: history, current state, prospects of development”.
The event was opened by the Head of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences Assoc. Shakun NV, who emphasized the ethnoconsolidation function of the Ukrainian language in the development of the state. Within the problematic field of the round table, a wide range of issues was discussed, in particular: neologisms in the modern Ukrainian language, the role of the Ukrainian language in the process of national revival, features of computer terms of the Ukrainian language, etc. In the reports, students presented a historical overview of the development of the Ukrainian language from ancient times to the present. Topics related to language issues called for discussion, which continued in the format of a panel discussion.
