Researching a foreign innovation ecosystem: a visit to the CERN Science Gateway

In August 2024, Kateryna Hnedina, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Coordinator of the Startup development, innovation and project-based learning, visited the “Science Gateway” Research and Education Centre and Museum of the CERN International Research Centre of the European Community to learn about the best foreign practices in the formation of innovation ecosystems.

CERN (the European Organisation for Nuclear Research) is an international research organisation founded in 1954 and is currently the world’s largest high-energy physics laboratory. CERN is a centre for research, joint scientific projects, creation and implementation of innovations, and a driver of modern technologies.

During the visit, Kateryna Hnedina got acquainted with the key areas of CERN’s activities, innovations and professions of the future, plunged into the world of science through various interactive simulators and scientific installations using AV, AR, VR technologies located on the territory of the “Science Gateway” Centre and Museum.
