“Mental health care in institutions of higher education”
The rector of Chernihiv Polytechnic University, Oleg Novomlynets, took part in the meeting-meeting of heads of Ukrainian universities “Care for mental health in institutions of higher education”, which took place on February 26, 2024 in the city of Lviv.
The organizers of the meeting were: All-Ukrainian mental health program at the initiative of Olena Zelenska, Mental Health Coordination Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Ministry of Education and Science, Ukrainian Catholic University. In the conditions of war, the issue of ensuring the mental well-being of participants in the educational process is extremely important.
Effective and targeted mental health care is becoming a strategic priority for educational institutions, as it is a key factor in creating a favorable and productive environment for learning and personal development. The meeting discussed the creation of a policy aimed at supporting mental health in the academic environment.
Ideas regarding the implementation of mentoring and adaptation programs for students, the creation of social platforms to provide psychological support, as well as the development of mechanisms for mandatory measurement and monitoring of the psychological atmosphere in the team were considered.
