ERASMUS+ KA2 DEFEP PROJECT
RESULTS OF SOCIOLOGICAL RESEARCH OF STAKEHOLDER REQUESTS OF DISTANCE EDUCATION
In the first ten days of May 2023, within the framework of the project “Distance education for the future: EU best practices in response to the requests of higher education and labor market applicants” (101083143 — DEFEP — ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE), a sociological study was conducted, the purpose of which was description of priorities, needs and requests of interested parties (stakeholders) of distance education as a potentially separate form of education. The general population of the study consisted of students, scientific and pedagogical workers, managers and affiliated employers of six higher education institutions of Ukraine, namely:
- – Chernihiv Polytechnic National University,
- – Kyiv National University of Economics named after Vadym Hetman,
- – Lviv National University of Nature Management,
- – Uman National University of Horticulture,
- – Kharkiv National University named after V. N. Karazin,
- – Black Sea National University named after Petro Mohyla.
A total of 2,604 students of higher education took part in the survey, most of whom (60%) indicate that it is more comfortable for them to study in a distance format. This is explained by the following factors: 63% of students combine university studies with work; the presence of smartphones in almost all surveyed students gives them the opportunity to combine classes with work. The most acceptable options for teaching educational material are online lectures with presentations, concise notes and video recordings of lectures, as well as the Moodle distance course.

The DEFEP project team once again thanks all colleagues, students of higher education and employers for their active participation in the sociological survey!
