On December 4, 2024, the debate DemClub continued its work at the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University.

Since the autumn semester, the coordinators of the DemClub are Victoria Bybyk, Alina Bilous and Denys Burnos, members of the NGO “Yoda”, who are studying the course “Civic Education” (‘Democracy: from Theory to Practice’) under the guidance of Associate Professor Alla Nitchenko.

The first debate of this semester was devoted to discussing one of the most pressing and emotionally sensitive topics – the legalisation of abortion.

Students of different specialities took part in the debate: ecology, philosophy, law, finance, cybersecurity and food technology.

We would like to remind you that the DemClub is a monthly meeting during the academic semester where students discuss current challenges of Ukrainian democracy, debate, gain new knowledge, freely express their opinions and, most importantly, form a community of active citizens!

The innovative and interactive course on civic education is implemented by the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University with the partnership support of IFES, USAID Ukraine, Global Affairs Canada and the British Embassy Kyiv.
