Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Babyn Yar Tragedy

Remembrance of the past is our shared duty and a guarantee that such tragedies will not be forgotten.

Today, Ukraine honors the memory of the victims of the Babyn Yar tragedy – one of the most terrible symbols of Nazi terror and mass murders of the civilian population during World War II.

Babyn Yar became a site of mass shootings, claiming the lives of tens of thousands of people. This tragedy has forever remained a painful page in our history. Honoring the victims, we realize the value of human life, the importance of human dignity, and the necessity to stand against manifestations of hatred, discrimination, and violence.

We remember. We honor. We do not forget.
