On December 9, 2021, a round table discussion on the problem of preventing and combating violence was held at the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University. The participants of the round table were representatives of public authorities, public organizations, applicants for higher education.

The Vice-Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical and Educational Work of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University O.Ye. Melnyk, Head of the Center for Gender Education of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University H.L. Chepurna.

The issue of preventing domestic violence provoked the most lively discussion. In particular, the Deputy Director of the Department of Family, Youth and Sports of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration and the Head of the Department for Family and Youth Affairs V.L. Holub drew attention to the problem of psychological violence in families. Director of the Chernihiv Local Center for Free Secondary Legal Aid V.A. Bobruiko acquainted the audience with the directions of the center’s work and stressed the possibility of obtaining qualified legal assistance to persons who have suffered violence or witnessed it. Deputy Director of the Chernihiv Regional Youth Center of the Chernihiv Regional Council OO Kotelenets focused on the search for effective means of preventing violence among young people.

Applicants for higher education had the opportunity to ask questions to the guests of the round table and take part in the discussion of the issues raised.
