Kateryna Maksom Presents TURBO Project Experience at an International Course on Global Social Work in Switzerland

Kateryna Maksom, coordinator of the Erasmus+ TURBO project at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and Head of the Department of Social Work, prepared a video case study for the international course “Peace, Justice and Democracy: The Transformative Power of Global Social Work” for students of OST (Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences). The case study became part of the course’s learning content, alongside contributions from experts from India, the USA, Germany and the United Kingdom.

The case study explores what peace, justice and democracy mean for a border region under constant military threat, and how social work is being transformed under these conditions. Kateryna Maksom identified work with internally displaced persons as one of the key areas of this transformation.

Kateryna Maksom presented the experience of the Erasmus+ TURBO project, in particular the micro-credentials developed for internally displaced persons as a tool for their professional and social integration in host communities.

The case study also presents the model of the university as a regional hub that facilitates interaction between communities, local authorities, businesses and civil society, and co-designs recovery solutions together with them.

The TURBO project team at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University expresses its sincere gratitude to OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences and the course organisers for their cooperation and for the opportunity to present the project’s experience to an international student audience.
