Development of an inclusive environment at the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University

On 27 May, within the framework of the National Barrier-Free Week, the head of the Centre for Inclusive Education of the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University Maryna Zakharina, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Work, held an information meeting about the Centre’s activities and the importance of creating equal conditions for all students.

The meeting was joined by Vice-Rector Olha Melnyk, who spoke about the importance of developing an inclusive environment at the university and stressed the importance of forming an inclusive culture, consciousness and space in higher education institutions as a key to the development of a democratic and just society.

The event touched upon the topics of barrier-free access, educational inclusion, support for students with special educational needs, and the role of tutors in this process. The presentation outlined the goals, objectives and principles of the university’s inclusive educational environment, which is being formed as part of the implementation of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine.

Together we are building a space without barriers – open, supportive and sensitive to the needs of everyone!
