DEMO DAY 2.0 FOR THE ERASMUS+ PROMENT PROJECT TOOK PLACE
On 17 December 2025, Demo Day 2.0 took place in a mixed format at the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University. “Developing a tutoring and mentoring system at the university: from idea to scaling up”, dedicated to the results of the second pilot within the Erasmus+ PROMENT project (Project: 101082696). The aim of Demo Day was to promote the initiatives of the PROMENT project and demonstrate the practical value of tutoring and mentoring for the development of soft skills and professional competencies among students.
The event was opened with welcoming remarks by Oleh Novomlynets, Rector of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, Liudmyla Remnova, Institutional Coordinator of the PROMENT project at the university, and Alla Kholodnytska, Head of the Tutoring and Mentoring Centre.
During Session 1, “Mentoring as a tool for the professional development of students,” participants discussed best practices for implementing digital mentoring, professional mentoring, and mentoring in the field of business and start-ups at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University. The coordinator of the Chernihiv IT Cluster, Vladyslav Nosovets, mentors from the IT and business sectors, and students participating in mentoring programmes and student start-up teams shared their experiences.
Session 2, “Mentoring as a tool for inclusion, support and sustainable change,” was devoted to barrier-free opportunities and support for different categories of students. In particular, the piloting of a mentoring programme for internally displaced students in partnership with the “Rokada” Charitable Foundation was presented, a mentoring programme for students with disabilities, implemented in partnership with the Centre for Inclusive Education, and a gender mentoring programme to support female students in STEM, implemented in cooperation with the Centre for Gender Education. Special attention was paid to the experience of mentoring in the field of green technologies as a component of shaping the environmental awareness of young people in accordance with the requirements of the European Green Deal.
During Session 3, “Tutoring programmes as an effective form of student cooperation based on the “peer-to-peer” principle,” the results of the second pilot tutoring programme for first-year students and the internationalisation tutoring programme for students going abroad were summarised, and the key achievements of the peer-to-peer approach in student cooperation and current challenges were outlined. -peer approach in student cooperation and current challenges. Tutors and tutees shared their experiences and impressions of participating in tutoring programmes. The event concluded with an award ceremony for the most active participants.
