A practical workshop entitled “The Road to Zero Waste” was held
On 9 December, a practical workshop entitled “The Road to Zero Waste” was held, which was the final group event of the ‘Mentoring in Green Technologies’ programme.
The event brought together students who want to live in an environmentally conscious way and change their daily habits for the benefit of the planet.
The session was mentored by Olha Rys, a member of the NGO “Eco City Chernihiv” and an active supporter of the zero waste movement. Thanks to her many years of experience and enthusiasm for the topic, participants gained not only theoretical knowledge but also practical life hacks for everyday life.
A special highlight was the practical part of the workshop, during which participants learned to identify the most desirable methods of waste management, familiarised themselves with eco-friendly alternatives for everyday use, analysed the contents of their own “rubbish bins”, and visited the “Plastic Fantastic” workshop to see for themselves the creative possibilities of reusing plastic.
This practical approach allowed participants to see the real impact of everyday habits on the environment and understand how small steps bring us closer to the Zero Waste concept and meet the goals of the European Green Deal.
The event was organised as part of the “Mentoring in Green Technologies” scheme under the Erasmus+ PROMENT project “Promoting vocational education and active student participation through the establishment of a mentoring and tutoring system in institutions”. The project is co-funded by the European Union, but the views and opinions expressed are those of the authors of this project and do not necessarily reflect the views of the European Union or the European Education and Culture Executive Agency.
