A postgraduate student at Chernihiv Polytechnic University took part in events during the Danish Ambassador’s visit to Chernihiv

During his first official visit to Chernihiv, Thomas Lund-Sørensen took part in a ceremony marking the start of a large-scale social housing construction project supported by Denmark.

The Ambassador, together with the Head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration Viacheslav Chaus, representatives of local authorities and project partners, laid a time capsule at the site of the future residential complexes.

With the support of the GAU Foundation, a large-scale social project is being implemented, which includes the construction of eight residential complexes with 412 apartments for internally displaced persons and the creation of a preschool for 200 children. In the future, this housing will become part of the affordable social housing fund. An important feature of the initiative is its humanitarian focus and full funding from private Danish sources.

It is particularly pleasing to note that Sikun Oleksii, a postgraduate student at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, has joined the project.

The participation of a university postgraduate student in such a large-scale international project is an example of the active civic position of young scientists and their involvement in the processes of regional recovery and the development of socially important infrastructure.

Chernihiv Polytechnic National University is proud that its students are participating in projects aimed at supporting the community and the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
