On October 14, 2024, the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University welcomed a delegation from “Expertise France”.

The delegation got acquainted with the results of the project “Restoration and current construction works in the main buildings of the university”, within which new windows and doors were installed for the main building, which was damaged during the Russian attack on April 17, 2024

Ambassador of France Gaël Veyssière emphasized the importance of supporting Chernihiv region and noted that the restoration of vital facilities – the university, hospital, research institute and innovation center – is a priority for the French government and the Expertise France agency. The meeting was also joined by the head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Viacheslav Chaus, who thanked the French partners for their significant contribution to the restoration of the higher education institution

The rector of the university, Oleh Novomlynets, expressed his sincere gratitude for the assistance in restoring the infrastructure. “On April 17, 2024, as a result of the Russian attack, our university suffered significant damage. In particular, windows and doors in the buildings were damaged, making further functioning of the institution impossible. Today, thanks to the project supported by Expertise France, we are taking important steps towards full recovery,” the rector emphasized.

The restoration of the university’s infrastructure is an important step towards ensuring a continuous educational process and the development of education in the region.
