“Tree of Support” campaign to support victims of domestic and gender-based violence
At the initiative of the Department of Preventive Activities of the Main Directorate of the National Policein Chernihiv region and the Chernihiv Public Committee for Human Rights Protection, in cooperation with the Center for Gender Education of the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and the Department of Law Enforcement and General Legal Disciplines, a campaign to support victims of domestic and gender-based violence, the “Tree of Support”, has been held.
The action is a part of the events held within the framework of the “16 Days against Violence” programme at the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University.
The “Tree of Support” symbolised unity, hope and the opportunity to get help in difficult life situations. The students of the study programme “Law Enforcement”, together with the curator Svitlana Veremiienko, left messages on the “Tree of Support” with warm words of support, motivational quotes and wishes of strength and endurance for those who are going through difficult life circumstances. Each message has become a symbol of solidarity and concern for the problem of violence in society.
The organisers hope that such initiatives will contribute to the formation of a tolerant and responsive society in which everyone will feel protected and supported.
