The training took place at the university’s main campus in The Hague (Netherlands). The aim of the event was to familiarise participants with THUAS’s advanced approaches to the internationalisation of education, the integration of Sustainable Development Goals into curricula, and the implementation of innovative forms of international cooperation.

On 29 September, participants familiarised themselves with the THUAS campus, the activities of the Global and Inclusive Learning and Mission Zero research centres, as well as the Dutch education system and the role of the Nuffic National Agency in internationalisation processes. In addition, there was an interactive presentation on the context of the university’s activities and its interaction with the urban environment

30 September was devoted to the development of internationalisation at home policies and participation in the Cormack project, which brings together THUAS and Ukrainian universities. There was also a practical workshop on the development of joint online courses (COIL design)

On 1 October, the delegation took part in a series of workshops focused on curriculum design through Regenerative Education and Justice approaches, which emphasise a responsible attitude towards the education ecosystem, social justice and the long-term impact of educational practices.

On 2 October, the programme included a lecture on Critical Internationalisation, as well as a practical workshop on integrating Sustainable Development Goals and Internal Development Goals into learning outcomes. Participants also had the opportunity to talk to student Liza Shevchenko, a representative of Ukrainian youth who is studying International Communication Management and working as a researcher in the Global Learning group. At the end of the day, there was an open session at the Innovation Playground and a meeting with COIL project practitioners.

3 October was devoted to a joint discussion of the experience gained and the formation of an action plan for further cooperation between THUAS and Ukrainian universities.

The study visit was an important step in the development of partnership relations between Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and contributed to expanding the knowledge of Ukrainian educators on modern European approaches to the internationalisation of education, sustainable development and intercultural interaction. The experience gained will serve as a basis for introducing innovative practices into the educational programmes of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and strengthening international academic cooperation.
