The British Council in Ukraine in partnership with the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Advance HE (Great Britain) and with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education implements the Higher Education Teaching Program.

The program consists of two components: a component for university teachers and a component “Teaching Excellence Centers” for university management.

The component for teachers includes the study of practical approaches to teaching and learning in higher education. The main focus of the program is to motivate participants to use new approaches based on student-centered learning, which they will be able to apply in the classroom with their students and share knowledge with their colleagues.

The component “Centers of Teaching Excellence” aims to develop institutional strategies for teaching and learning and the creation of centers to ensure sustainable professional development of teachers in higher education institutions of Ukraine.

In 2021, the National University “Chernihiv Polytechnic” joined the implementation of this project in order to create a Center for Professional Development of Scientific and Pedagogical Workers of NU “Chernihiv Polytechnic”. During June-July 2021, a series of online meetings and trainings with the participation of the university team took place. On October 29, 2021, it is planned to hold an online walking workshop “Interactive online tools for student group projects” to disseminate the acquired knowledge and skills among research and teaching staff of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University.
