Seminar ‘Innovation for Competitiveness’
The Peremoha Centre hosted a seminar entitled ‘Innovation for Competitiveness’, organised jointly with the PPV s Agency as part of the EU4Innovation East project: Developing the innovative capacity of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University.
Participants discussed the role of innovation in wartime, its impact on economic development and regional competitiveness, and why it is important to build an innovation ecosystem in Chernihiv right now.
Representatives of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University joined the discussion, including lecturers, researchers, start-up coordinators, postgraduate students, undergraduates, and founders of local businesses and start-ups such as PET-Technologies, Metaenga, and ‘Insulin Without Queues’. Together, they talked about startups, technologies, commercialisation of ideas, and the effectiveness of innovation.
PPV experts shared examples of creative economy development, in particular the case of ‘Promprylad. Renovation’ – a revitalised factory in Ivano-Frankivsk, where the New Economy of Ivano-Frankivsk project created ‘POLE’ – a centre for development and product design. This example inspired a conversation about the potential of Chernihiv as a city where innovation could be the key to recovery.
