On 27 June 2025, at the invitation of the State Agency of Water Resources of Ukraine, the deputy director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Engineering, Production and Construction, guarantor of the educational programme ‘Ecology’, and Chairman of the Desna and Upper Dnipro Basin Council, Tsybulia S., as part of the Desna Basin Water Resources Management delegation, took part in the second joint communication event dedicated to the progress of river basin management plans and events to mark Danube Day.

The event was held at the Black Sea and Lower Danube River Basin Water Resources Administration (Odesa), chaired by Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Vlasenko S. and Head of the State Water Agency of Ukraine Hopchak I.

During the event, participants were briefed on the implementation of the first cycle of the Danube River Basin Management Plan, the introduction of measures to reduce pollution and mitigate the impact of hydromorphological changes, the implementation of nature-based solutions in water resource management, biodiversity conservation, and joint Danube studies (JDS) conducted by the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River.

As part of the event, participants were also introduced to the work of the Southern Region Water Monitoring Laboratory.
