Round table “Ukrainian language: history, current state, development prospects”

On 24 October, the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University hosted a student roundtable discussion “Ukrainian Language: History, Current Status, Development Prospects” dedicated to the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language. The event once again brought together higher education students from different educational institutions of Chernihiv region, creating a platform for discussing topical issues of the Ukrainian language development and its importance in shaping the national consciousness.

The moderator of the event was Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences Kovalova I.O, who in her opening remarks stressed the importance of preserving and developing the Ukrainian language as a key element of national identity. She emphasised the role of the language in shaping the cultural consciousness of the younger generation and urged students to actively support its promotion and study.

Students of the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and the T.H. Shevchenko National University “Chernihiv Colehium” shared their thoughts, research and ideas on preserving the linguistic heritage and promoting the Ukrainian language in modern society. The participants of the event discussed a wide range of topics related to the history of the Ukrainian language and its formation in different periods. Particular attention was paid to the current state of language policy, the promotion of the Ukrainian language among young people and the prospects for its development in the context of cultural revival.

The event was held in the format of a lively discussion, during which students exchanged views and ideas on the preservation and development of their native language.
