Results of the “Professions of the Future” Educational Project Presented in Chernihiv

On March 27, a media day was held at thePeremoha Lab makerspace at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, during which students presented the results of the “Professions of the Future” educational project. The event brought together media representatives, course participants, residents of the “Peremoha” Center, and career advisors from the Chernihiv City Council, creating a space for open dialogue, the exchange of experiences, and the presentation of ideas.

The project was aimed at high school and college students and sought to provide young people with knowledge and practical skills that will serve as the foundation for post-war reconstruction.

As part of the project, five training tracks were implemented in collaboration with partners:

  • · “Urban Studies and Urban Ecology,”
  • · “3D Scanning for Reconstruction,”
  • · “Artificial Intelligence and Data,”
  • · “3D Building Modeling,”
  • · and “CNC Technologies for Modeling and Prototyping.”

To engage young people and generate innovative ideas, a two-day “Solutions Workshop” ideathon was held, resulting in six project ideas aimed at improving inclusivity, the quality of public spaces, and urban greening

The events were attended by 92 participants—students from Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and high school students from Chernihiv. More than 100 students from Chernihiv schools visited Peremoha Lab to support the initiative to pilot and implement a system to guide students in their career choices.

The training combined theory with practice: participants explored urban spaces and environmental challenges, learned to create 3D models, worked with 3D scanning and photogrammetry technologies, explored the capabilities of artificial intelligence, and created digital and physical objects using CNC equipment and 3D printing. Among the key outcomes was working with real urban structures. Specifically, participants scanned the building at 2b Muzeina Street, created a 3D model of it, and used this data to produce two physical models: one as an exact replica of the building, and the other featuring a custom interior design.

The courses served as a platform for collaboration, exchanging ideas, and establishing new professional contacts. Participants had the opportunity to present their work at Peremoha Lab, receive feedback, and refine their projects.

The competencies gained during the training are not merely theoretical knowledge but practical tools for future architects, engineers, and urban planners who will join the processes of Ukraine’s reconstruction. The project is a timely response to contemporary challenges, as planning for reconstruction and developing the necessary professional skills must begin today.

At the same time, such initiatives contribute to the formation of a new community of specialists capable of thinking strategically, working in a team, and implementing innovative solutions for the sustainable development of Ukrainian communities.

Event speakers:

  • · Serhii Bezborodko – Director of the “Peremoha” Center for Startup Creation and Development, Executive Director of the NGO “Eco City Chernihiv.”
  • · Povoznyk Yuliia – Computer Science and Mathematics Teacher, Career Advisor at Chernihiv Lyceum No. 22 of the Chernihiv City Council.

The “Professions of the Future” project is implemented by the NGO “Eco City” in partnership with Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and the Chernihiv IT Cluster, with financial support from The German Marshall Fund of the United States.
