Regional training on ‘Media literacy and information security in wartime’
On 13 June 2025, a regional training session on ‘Media literacy and information security in wartime’ was held at the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University.
During the event, trainers Oksana Stelmakh, editor of the web portal ‘Chernihiv Monitor’, and Yuliia Peretiatko, ambassador of the ‘Together We Can’ project, presented the key aspects of information security to the participants, discussed the main tools of propaganda and manipulation in the media space, the relevance of critical thinking in wartime, as well as issues of protection against cyberattacks and challenges related to the use of artificial intelligence in information products.
The session included a presentation of the video ‘Media Literacy and Digital Security in Wartime. Clickbait and AI Images,’ created as part of the ‘Together We Can’ project.
The event was attended by representatives of student self-government, young people, and activists from civil society organisations in Chernihiv region.
The project is being implemented by the ‘Human Rights Foundation’ with the support of the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA) as part of the ‘Tsyvik’ programme and with financial support from the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
In the Chernihiv region, the initiative is being implemented by the NGO ‘Centre for Gender Education’ in cooperation with the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University.
