“Peace in digital time”: on the implementation of the project in September-October 2021

In September-October 2021 in Chernihiv region NU “Chernihiv Polytechnic” was actively implementing a human rights program to expand opportunities to restore understanding for community leaders in Ukraine “Path to peace in the digital age.” The partners of the university in the implementation of the program were the NGO “Human Rights Foundation”, the NGO “Center for Gender Education”, the Institute for International Cultural Relations (IFA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.

In order to strengthen the idea of dialogue in society for the sake of understanding and reconciliation as an important condition for sustainable development of the country, its European integration by the project team consisting of the coordinator of the head. Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences Natalia Shakun, project ambassadors Tetyana Detsyuk, Alla Nitchenko, Yulia Peretyatko, Serhiy Sapon, Hanna Chepurna organized a round table with the participation of public activists, media representatives, local self-government bodies, 2 and leadership, 10 blog cafes (two-hour interactive events to discuss empowering public figures and strengthening their voices at the local level and enforcing UN Security Council Resolution 1325, UN Security Council Resolution 2250 and achieving sustainable development goals by 2030) .

As part of the project activities, the ambassadors took part in 5 regional schools, where they had the opportunity to learn the best domestic practices of human rights and blogging. The project ambassadors were also able to organize a strong team of 50 youth blogger activists who not only participated in the events but also gained experience in conducting them. In addition, the project participants expressed their views on easing tensions and mitigating conflicts in society through joint public activities in the blogospheres of NU “Chernihiv Polytechnic” and MUSTPOST.TODAY.

In September-October, the project team visited the Sednivska and Mykhailo-Kotsyubynska communities, held a blog cafe with local youth on non-violent communication and the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 “Youth, Peace, Security”. A sociological survey of civic activity of local youth was also conducted in the communities.

In November, the project will continue to work on the blogger’s code, summarizing the results of the mini-projects, preparing requests for public information to government agencies to implement the program of the Regional Program “Youth of Chernihiv” for 2021-2025 and the National Action Plan “Women, Peace , security ».
