Participation of students and teachers of the Department of Architecture and Design in international mobility

PARTICIPATION OF TEACHERS AND STUDENTS OF ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN IN THE INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL PROJECT ARCHICAMP IN FRANKFURT AM MAIN

From 7 to 15 December, students majoring in “Architecture and Urban Planning” and “Design” under the guidance of the academic staff of the Department of Architecture and Design Yuliia Shabardina and Olha Havryk took part in the international educational project ArcHICamp, which took place in Frankfurt am Main (Germany) with the support of the Ukrainian Coordination Centre Frankfurt.

This programme was an important step in adopting the experience of restoring the city of Frankfurt after the Second World War, which is especially relevant for Ukraine in the context of rebuilding damaged areas

The students visited key museums in Frankfurt, including the Historical Museum, which told them about the history of the city and its reconstruction after the war. The Film Museum, through its interactive elements and conceptual, visually spectacular spaces, revealed the importance of visualisation and the correct presentation of information, which is extremely important for future architects and designers.

The excursion to the office of Groß&Partner, a development company specialising in project development and construction, was no less fascinating. The students got acquainted with the large-scale architectural project FOUR Frankfurt and had the opportunity to visit the construction site of this complex. The participants also visited the dungeons of the U5 Europaviertel metro line construction, which made it possible to understand the scale and complexity of modern infrastructure projects from their own experience.

The project management workshop was especially valuable, where students learned how to create customer-focused projects

An interactive presentation at the “Resopal” factory, which has been producing artificial turf for a wide range of applications for about 100 years, was an example of skill in explaining complex technical processes.

At the “Rebuild Ukraine” forum, teachers and students presented the university and their own projects for the reconstruction and improvement of Chernihiv region, which impressed the participants and guests of the event by combining aesthetics with functionality and social significance, and highlighted the high level of students’ training.

The innovative architecture of the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, one of the leading business schools in Europe, became a source of inspiration for students to use architectural forms and design to improve the productivity and comfort of the educational process.

The ArcHICamp project is not only an opportunity for professional growth, but also a platform for cultural exchange and understanding of global challenges in urban regeneration. For Ukraine, this experience is invaluable in the context of modern realities.

Participation in such programmes helps our students develop the competencies necessary to rebuild Ukraine and inspires them to create modern, functional, and socially significant projects.

Our university continues to actively support international academic mobility and create conditions for the professional growth of its students!
