Participation in the Global Government Jam international service design marathon
From 4 to 9 November, the Global Gov Jam international event brought together participants from around the world interested in service design, design thinking and a human-centred approach to solving public sector challenges.
In Ukraine, about 300 participants in 7 cities joined the event and worked together for 48 hours to improve public services, going from idea formation to service prototype creation.
Chernihiv Polytechnic National University was represented by Yuliia Shabardina, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Architecture and Environment Design, who took part in the annual GovJam Kyiv 2025 marathon, held in Kyiv on 6-7 November. The participants included civil servants, educators, representatives of business, the IT sector, creative industries and community activists, who spent two days working on improving public and municipal services using a human-centred design approach: researching user needs, generating solutions and analysing the user journey.
Chernihiv Polytechnic National University is one of the first universities in Ukraine where service design is taught as a strategic discipline within the second-level higher education programme ‘Design’.
The participation of teachers in events of this level contributes to the integration of modern methods and practices into the educational process, expands the professional opportunities of students and strengthens the university’s position in the innovative educational ecosystem.
GovJam Kyiv 2025 is organised by the customer experience agency Lanka.CX in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communication Technologies of the Kyiv City State Administration and in partnership with UNICEF Ukraine.
