‘OPEN DIALOGUE’.

On July 30, 2024, a round table on ‘Open Dialogue’ was held at the National University of Chernihiv Polytechnic as part of the project ‘Legal Compass: Information Centre for Legal Aid Provision in Chernihiv’.

The purpose of the roundtable was to present the results of the project. The event was organised based on the results of the grant competition ‘Grant Competition for CSOs to Improve Access to Justice in Target Communities’.

The roundtable participants were:

  • Liudmyla Ostapenko, Director of the Institute of Law and Social Technologies, Chernihiv Polytechnic.
  • Kozynets Olena Havrylivna, member of the NGO ‘Association of Lawyers of Chernihiv Region’, head of the project team, head of the Department of Law Enforcement and General Legal Disciplines of the National University ‘Chernihiv Polytechnic’.

  • Svitlana Makhrina, deputy head of the department of the Chernihiv Department of Free Legal Aid Provision.
  • Ivan Vashchenko, Deputy Head of Chernihiv Regional State Administration.
  • Petrenko Oksana Mykhailivna, Head of the Department for Veterans’ Policy of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration.
  • Moik Anzhelika Eduardivna, Chief Specialist of the Department of Information and Public Relations of Chernihiv Regional State Administration.
  • Iryna Myronenko, Head of the Division for Interaction with Public Associations of the Internal Policy and Public Relations Directorate of the Department of Information Policy and Public Communications of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration.
  • Nataliia Kholchenkova, Head of the Department of International Relations and Investments at Chernihiv City Council.
  • Veronika Prykhodko, Chief Specialist – Legal Adviser of the Legal Department of Chernihiv City Council.
  • Viktoriia Kalmykova, Head of the NGO ‘Veterans’ Space of Ukraine ‘Heartland’.
  • Lytvynenko Valentyna Mykolaivna, project implementer, head of the Adiutorium legal clinic, head of the Department of Public and Private Law.
  • Svitlana Veremiienko, project implementer, senior lecturer at the Department of Law Enforcement and General Legal Disciplines.
  • Kholiavko Nataliia Ivanivna, Head of the Project Activity Centre at the National University of Chernihiv Polytechnic.
  • Tetiana Detsiuk, coordinator of the UNDP Network of Working Groups on Public Safety and Recovery in Chernihiv Oblast, member of the NGO Chernihiv European
  • Kateryna Pavlunko, specialist at the Legal Compass Information Centre, member of the Adiutorium Legal Clinic, student of the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University.
  • Moderator – Alla Nitchenko, member of the NGO ‘Association of Legal Scholars of Chernihiv Region’, responsible executor of the project ‘Legal Compass. Information Centre for Legal Aid Provision in Chernihiv’, Associate Professor of the Department of Law Enforcement and General Legal Disciplines.

Rector of the National University of Chernihiv Polytechnic Oleh Novomlynets welcomed the participants of the roundtable and praised the project and its results. He noted that the Legal Compass project has become an important step in improving access to justice for the residents of Chernihiv region.

During the event, the participants discussed the achievements and challenges faced by the team, shared their experience and developed recommendations for the future work of the Legal Compass Information Centre.
