IMPROVING ACCESS TO JUSTICE TOGETHER.
In May 2024, the NGO “Association of Lawyers of Chernihiv” in partnership with NU “Chernihiv Polytechnic University” started the implementation of the “Legal Compass” project (Creating an Information Center for the provision of legal assistance in the city of Chernihiv and remote communities). The developers of the project are the members of the NGO “Association of Legal Scientists of Chernihiv” of the NPP of the Department of Law Enforcement and General Legal Disciplines of the NU “Chernihiv Polytechnic” Olena Kozynets and Alla Nitchenko.
The geography of the project is 7 communities of Chernihiv region, namely: Chernihiv, Snovska, Menska, Koropska, Mykhailo-Kotsyubynska, Ivanovska and Ripkinska territorial communities.
In May, representatives of the legal clinic will be trained, and in June-July they will provide legal assistance in cooperation with representatives of the free legal aid system.
The target group of the project is veterans and their family members
Trainings and consultations for the target group are free.
The goal of the project is to increase the level of awareness of veterans and their family members through the creation of the Legal Compass Information Center.
The “Legal Compass” initiative: Information center for providing legal aid in Chernihiv” is implemented by the NGO “Association of Legal Experts of Chernihiv” under the technical administration of ISAR Unification and assistance of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine with the financial support of the European Union, provided within the framework of the “EU4Recovery” project – Expanding the opportunities of communities in Ukraine”.
