On March 12, 2024, with the assistance of the National Antarctic Science Center, a guest lecture on the topic: “Research at the Ukrainian Antarctic station “Akademik Vernadskyi” was held online with direct connection from the station “Akademik Vernadskyi” (Antarctica).

Lecturers: Oleksandr Nadtochiy (meteorologist) and Serhii Glotov (biologist).

The meeting was attended by students of the following specialties: ecology, tourism, agronomy, forestry, electric power engineering and others, scientific and pedagogical employees of the university, representatives of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, the State Environmental Inspection in the Chernihiv Region, the Desnyan Basin Water Resources Department, the Chernihiv Regional center for hydrometeorology.

During the meeting, the polar explorers talked about the scientific research carried out at the station, conducted a tour of the territory, showed penguins, scientific laboratories, everyday life, a recreation area, a photo gallery and much more. And they also answered numerous questions of those present.
