Final mentoring session as part of the piloting of the PROMENT project’s ‘Mentoring in Business and Startups’ scheme

On 13 June, a mentoring session on ‘Digital Innovation: Personal Data and Approaches to Ensuring Its Security’ was held at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University. The event was held as part of the piloting of the ‘Mentoring in Business and Startups’ scheme of the Erasmus+ KA2 PROMENT project.

Mentor Yevhen Patlan, Manager Build/Release Engineering at Percona, shared practical knowledge on personal data protection in the modern digital environment with future startuppers.

The following key issues were discussed during the event:

  • · what personal data is, its classification and storage features;
  • · the main threats that organisations and users may face;
  • · technical and organisational means of data protection;
  • · the most high-profile personal data leaks in history, their consequences and lessons for business and society, etc.

Participants in the mentoring session received practical advice and broadened their understanding of current challenges in the field of cybersecurity. We sincerely thank the project mentor, Yevhen Patlan, for the relevant and useful information in the field of data protection, as well as all participants in the event!
