Feedback on Erasmus+ (Latvia)

Recently, our students of the specialty 242 Tourism – Anastasiia Blyzniyk and Anastasiia Kaliuzhna successfully returned from studies at the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences in Latvia! They studied at the Faculty of Society and Science from February to July 2023 according to the academic mobility program Erasmus+ KA1.

We are pleased to share feedbacks from the participants

Anastasiia Kaliuzhna:

«Chernihiv Polytechnic National University offered me to participate in the Erasmus+ program for six months at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences in Latvia. I really liked the offer, and as a result, I decided to participate in this program for several reasons: I wanted to have a unique experience of studying in another country and immersing myself in a new culture.

During my academic mobility, I had a mentor who helped me to adapt to the new environment, told me about the educational system and helped me with administrative issues.

The host university organized various activities and excursions to help learn about the country’s culture, history and attractions. It created a great atmosphere for sharing experiences with other students and immersing in an intercultural context.

Thanks to the Erasmus+ study mobility, I became more open-minded, improved my English and communication skills, travelled and learned how to work in an intercultural environment. Acquaintance with people from different countries allowed me to experience different traditions, customs and languages. I got an unforgettable experience of friendship with foreigners and expanded my international network of contacts and, of course, it gave me a great academic opportunity».

Anastasiia Blyzniyk:

«My story of participating in the Erasmus+ program began with the fact that I find out about the possibility of participating in the exchange program thanks to the university where I study. I always dreamed of studying and traveling at the same time, and thanks to Erasmus+, it became a reality. As soon as I learned about this opportunity, I realized that I must try myself and apply.

I was 18 years old at the time of my participation in the program and it was my first youth exchange experience. For me personally, the purpose of participation was to improve my level of English, gain new life experience, communicate with other young participants and deepen my acquaintance with the language and culture of a new country.

I found out a lot about different cultures and saw the world from different angles. I made friends with students from different countries. From an academic point of view, my teachers helped me to develop my knowledge.

During the 5 months of my studies at the university, there were many different events and trips. I got many unforgettable emotions, visiting different cities of Latvia, and had the opportunity to visit neighbouring countries.

I strongly recommend for all students to participate in the Erasmus+ program, as it offers a unique experience that can help them become more educated and tolerant people. The program allows students to see the world from a different perspective and challenge their prejudices. It also helps students develop their thinking and problem-solving skills.

Participating in the program became a new exciting and unforgettable experience for me. In the future, I would gladly become a participant in such an exchange again».

We are sincerely grateful to Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences for long-term cooperation and sincere care for the participants of academic mobility!
