Excursion to the Chernihiv Regional Universal Scientific Library named after V.G. Короленка

And again about where the path to knowledge actually begins. And it’s not about the school, not about the university, but about the LIBRARY! On October 20, 2021, Olena Gerasimenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, together with 1st year higher education students were invited to the Chernihiv Regional Universal Scientific Library named after V.G. Короленка.

Irina Kaganova, the head of the local history department, acquainted the students with the history of the building in which the library is now located, with the stages of its creation and formation. Conducted a meaningful tour of the library departments. In addition, higher education students visited the exhibition of paintings “Elegy of Colors”, which is exhibited in the reading room of the library, which presents paintings by Chernihiv artist, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Volodymyr Natalushko.

The book depository, which holds more than 600,000 copies of various literature, made an unsurpassed impression on higher education seekers. Once in the heart of the library, students wandered the long corridors with huge shelves of books and periodicals, did endless photo shoots and confessed to each other that they had never seen anything like it in their lives.

At the end of the tour, Olena Gerasimenko conducted a small quest for higher education students on the knowledge and ability to work with alphabetical and subject catalogs.
