The NGO “GENDER EDUCATION CENTER”, which operates on the basis of the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, is actively working to create a gender-sensitive environment in the region. The organisation conducts trainings, awareness-raising campaigns, flash mobs, and cultural events, engaging the local community in the topic of gender equality.

One of the key projects is “Women as Agents of Social Cohesion and Recovery in the Community”, which is being implemented with the support of UNDP and the French women in communities in Chernihiv region, training participants, and supporting women’s initiatives.

The head of the organisation, Olha Melnyk, noted that the project will promote the development of business initiatives that will help rebuild local communities. The results are expected in March 2025.
