Erasmus+ “Wake Up the Tolerance”.
From 16 to 24 June 2024, a group of higher education students of the National University “Chernihiv Polytechnic” accompanied by Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Philology L.V. Pikun took part in the Erasmus+ project “Wake Up the Tolerance” together with young people from Poland, Turkey and Serbia.
The participants of the visit took part in trainings, workshops, and masterclasses, and presented their results to the international public. The Ukrainian youth presented their country and got to know other cultures, which made it possible to break certain stereotypes and understand the diversity of our countries.
We are pleased to share their feedback with you:
“Thank you for such an incredible opportunity to meet so many people, practice my English, learn new information and reboot with such beautiful scenery” (Alina)
“I personally received a lot of positive emotions from this trip, knowledge that I can not only use but also pass on to others. This project made it possible to overcome the limits of a foreign language and communication with other people. Thank you!” (Veronika)
“For me, this trip was a challenge to face my fears, and showed me that through the exchange of knowledge and experience with foreign students, you can broaden your horizons, learn to communicate successfully in English, and become more tolerant. It also gave me the opportunity to get to know the cultures of other countries and show my own.” (Victoria)
“This trip was a great opportunity for me to learn about the cultures of Turkey, Poland and Serbia, as well as share my own. I was able to improve my communication skills, share my own experiences and broaden my horizons by gaining useful and interesting knowledge.” (Maria)
“Thanks to this trip, I learnt that the fear of a language barrier can only be avoided by practice. This topic has shown that it is important today and that we have to learn and practice tolerance right here and now. The presentation of each country allowed us to see their traditions, customs and ideas. And thanks to the workshops and team-building activities, we were able to practice working in international pairs.” (Karina)
“This is a truly unforgettable experience that will remain in my memory for a long time. Thanks to this project, I was able to practice two important things for me at once – English and communication skills.” (Karina)
