Demo day “Tutoring and mentoring: stories of impact, synergy and success”: pitching based on the results of the 1st pilot within the Erasmus+ PROMENT project
On 17 December 2024, the Demo Day “Tutoring and Mentoring: Stories of Impact, Synergy and Success”was held at the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University with the participation of the Chernihiv IT Cluster and the University Information Centre of the EU.
The event was a milestone in the implementation of the Erasmus+ PROMENT project “Promoting professional education and students engagement through comprehensive mentoring and tutoring system at HEIs”. The event featured a demonstration of the results of piloting tutoring and mentoring programmes, exchange of experience between participants, promotion of project initiatives, and emphasis on the importance of mentoring and tutoring in developing the skills of young leaders. The event was held in a mixed format. More than 50 participants joined the event.
The demo day began with the opening ceremony of the interactive space of the Tutoring and Mentoring Centre, which is equipped with modern equipment funded by the project and has all the necessary conditions for the development of student initiatives and support for young leaders. In his opening remarks, the Rector of the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University Oleh Novomlynets stressed the importance of such a centre, and the PROMENT project coordinator Liudmyla Remnova and the head of the Centre Alla Kholodnytska shared the achievements of 2024 and further prospects for the development of tutoring and mentoring programmes at the university.
As part of the main sessions of the event, Volodymyr Bazylevych, Coordinator of the EU Information Centre, presented the results of the implementation of the digital mentoring programme at the university; Vladyslav Nosovets, representative of the Chernihiv IT Cluster, shared his experience of organising the Digital Mentoring Crash Course for higher education students; Kateryna Hnedina, Coordinator of Startup Development, Innovation and Project Based Learning, highlighted the key role of mentoring in the development of the university’s startup ecosystem; Alla Nitchenko, Coordinator of the Tutoring Programme for Pre-English Language Students, shared her experience of organising the Digital Mentoring Crash Course for higher education students. The students (tutors and mentees) shared their successful experience of working with tutors and mentors during the educational process, start-up activities, and participation in other project activities.
The PROMENT demo day “Tutoring and Mentoring: Stories of Impact, Synergy and Success” ended with a discussion, reflection and awarding of the most active participants in tutoring and mentoring programmes with diplomas and gratitude.
