Chernihiv Polytechnic National University and GIZ join forces to restore infrastructure

On 21 August, a delegation of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) visited Chernihiv Polytechnic National University as part of the project Strengthening Urban Resilience (SUR). This initiative is aimed at restoring and modernising the infrastructure affected by the military operations.

The main purpose of the visit was to inspect the damaged facilities of the university, in particular the “Peremoha” Centre, and discuss possible ways to restore them. GIZ consultant Vadym Hetman, together with the university’s technical specialists, thoroughly inspected the centre, identifying key aspects that need attention during reconstruction.

The delegation, led by Ralf Grotenhoff, also met with the university management. The discussion focused on specific plans for cooperation and financing of the reconstruction work, as well as opportunities to attract additional resources. Both sides expressed a common interest in continuing to work closely together to achieve the best possible results.

Thanks to this support, the university is able not only to restore the destroyed facilities but also to make them even more modern.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the GIZ team for their active participation and significant support in the restoration of our university.

Together we can create new opportunities for development!
