On 17 March 2026, the Department of Welding and Construction Technologies hosted an online guest lecture on the topic: “Architectural and Energy Rehabilitation of the Luc Hoffman Building at the Tour du Valat Research Institute”.

The speakers were: Bijan Azmayesh, Chief Architect at Ostraka (France), and Robert Celaire, lecturer at the National School of Architecture, Montpellier (France) and the Colorado State University College of Engineering (USA).

The lecture was attended by both students and lecturers from Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, representing the following specialisations and study programmes:

• · G18 Surveying and Land Management;
• · G9 Applied Mechanics (Educational programmes ‘Welding Technologies and Equipment’ and ‘Mechanical Engineering Technologies’);

• · B2 Design;
• · E2 Ecology,
• · as well as students and lecturers from Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.

Thus, the lecture became a truly interdisciplinary and inter-university event, during which attendees had the opportunity to learn about the practical implementation of architectural and energy renovation measures using a real-life case study.
