Advanced training course for teachers ‘The Art of Mentoring and Tutoring: Modern Practices for Teachers’

As part of the Erasmus+ KA2 PROMENT project ‘Promoting professional education and students engagement through comprehensive mentoring and tutoring system at HEIs’ a professional development course entitled ‘The Art of Mentoring and Tutoring: Modern Practices for Teachers’ was successfully conducted.

The event was held on 13-17 June 2025 in an online format (on the MS Teams platform) by the PROMENT project implementers, scientific and pedagogical staff of the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University L. Remnova, A. Nitchenko, A. Verbytska, and N. Kholiavko. The course brought together scientific, pedagogical, and teaching staff from various educational institutions in Chernihiv who are interested in implementing modern approaches to mentoring and tutoring support for students.

The course programme covered topical issues related to the organisation of mentoring and tutoring in a university environment, effective interaction with students, individual support tools, and best European practices in this field. Participants had the opportunity not only to familiarise themselves with the theoretical foundations, but also to take part in practical classes, discussions and thematic case studies.

Upon completion of the course, participants received certificates of professional development worth 1 ECTS credit, confirming the development of the following competencies:

  • understanding of the theoretical foundations and practical aspects of mentoring and tutoring in institutions;
  • ability to implement mentoring and tutoring programmes to support students in their learning, professional and personal development;
  • ability to create favourable conditions for the self-development and self-improvement of students through mentoring/tutoring programmes, etc

We would like to thank all course participants for their active participation and willingness to broaden their horizons!
