A webinar on the prevention and detection of gender-based and domestic violence has been held
On 6 September 2024, an online webinar on the prevention and detection of gender-based and domestic violence has been held for the University’s academic staff.
The purpose of the event was to inform the academic staff of the University about the types of gender-based violence and forms of domestic violence.
In the form of a training session, the participants of the event:
– understood what sex is and what gender is;
– found out what forms of domestic violence exist and how the concepts of gender-based violence and domestic violence are related;
– learnt the current legislation of Ukraine and international acts regulating domestic violence;
– studied to distinguish between coercion and request in human relationships.
Webinar speaker: Bohdan Rudenko, a psychologist in the field of Positive Psychotherapy and Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), a specialist in non-formal adult education, and an expert in the development of social services. Trainer of the National Training Network on Preventing and Combating Domestic Violence of the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine and the Training Centre of the Higher School of Public Administration.
The event was organised by the team of the project for young people on the prevention of domestic and gender-based violence “Safe House” – the Department of Law Enforcement and General Legal Disciplines.
The webinar was prepared in cooperation with UNFPA and the NGO “Innovative Social Solutions” with the support of the Government of Canada.
